After training with Betty Haag and receiving my Suzuki teacher certification, I taught in Berlin, Germany for over 20 years, privately as well as at the Musikschule Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Other teachers included David Moll (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Professor Robert Bergt (Southern Illinois University), Alexander Labko (Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin) and Stephan Schulze (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra). Master classes and workshops with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, Professor Klaus Hertel (Music Conservatory in Leipzig, Germany), Anniko Baberkoff, and Sheila Nelson rounded out my pedagogical training. Invitations to be a guest clinician at Suzuki workshops brought me on numerous occasions throughout Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland. Performance experience included 12 years as a violinist with the Brandenburg Chamber Orchestra and 7 years in the Billroth String Quartet.
My teaching approach is complemented by previous experience practicing holistic therapies, for which I became licensed while living in Germany. More recently I have studied the chemistry and application of essential oils, which has proven useful in many lesson situations!
